Easter eggs you missed in "cardigan"

Hey there! Thank you for being here and for reading this post. Nog going to lie here, when i first saw the music video at 5 in the morning I didn't think much of it, but i watched it again (many times) and today im. going to show you the easter eggs Miss Swift hid in the music videos.

Let's start!

1. THE PIANO KEYS

the video starts with Taylor playing the piano in a tiny cabin. There's a panorama of her hands on the keys, which are broken and dirty. There are two possible meanings for this:

• It could signify Taylor going back to music after a long time, which could suggest the time period between 1989 and reputation (2014-2017)

• It could also mean returning to something "forgotten", like reminiscing about a past relationship.

2. THE FRAMED PICTURE

One of the scenes in the cabin shows three interesting things: a clock, a painting, and a framed picture.

The clock's handles point towards 1 and 3. Apparently Taylor couldn't resist hiding a 13.

The painting looks like her house in Rhode Island, which is an easter egg for "the last great american dynasty".

In the frame you can see a picture of Taylor's grandad, Archie Dean Swift, the inspiration for "epiphany" (when he landed in Guadalcanal in 1942) .

3. WALL OF ART

Another scene in the music video shows a wall full of art. This could be a reference to the lyrics "you paint dreamscapes on the wall" from the song "peace". There is more to this easter egg, which I'll explain in a second post.

4. SPARKLES

We have a lot of theories about what this could mean:

• The same pixie dust from "Peter Pan" (referenced in the lyric "Peter loosing Wendy")

• It could be the same glitter in the "Delicate" note, which took her on an adventure when she was invisible. This references how this glitter will also take her on an adventure.

5. PIANO MAGIC

Taylor crawls into the piano, which can mean that "music transports you".

6. PERFECT JUNGLE

Taylor appears in a jungle that looks really pretty and peaceful, which could be a reference of how teenage love is often romanticized and people make it seem perfect.

7. PARALLELS

Fans pointed out that the waterfalls in Taylor's piano are very similar to Harry Style's "Falling" piano in his music video. (They dated for a while back in 2012, and Taylor wrote songs like "Style" about him)

8. MORE GLITTER

Taylor sees glitter emerging from her seat and steps into it. She emerges in rough water. This can signify the stages of the relationship: the perfect jungle is the beginning and the wild sea is the end of said relationship. The end of the relationship was rough because James cheated on Betty.

9. OUT OF THE WOODS

The raging storm scene looks like a scene from "Out Of The Woods", which is about a relationship where Taylor felt anxiety.

10. GRASPING TO MUSIC

After seeing Taylor struggling to keep afloat, she swims towards a floating piano and grasps to it. This symbolizes how she uses music and songwriting to help her process life. In an interview in Vogue Taylor shared that making music was the only way she could survive the public turning on her.
