Easter eggs you missed in "cardigan": Part 2

Hey there! Welcome back to the blog. In case you missed it, on Wednesday I posted the first part to this blog post so check that out after this one!

Without further ado, let's get into the easter eggs!

11- LOST ROMANCE

In the scene where Taylor is grasping onto her piano, we can se very rough waters. This can signify the end of a very messy and complicated romance, or the pain that someone experiences in a breakup remembering memories and past experiences.

12- PETER PAN REFERENCES

Taylor compares the breakup to "Peter loosing Wendy" from the Peter Pan story. there are several references to this throughout the video. She uses this to reference "young love" since peter couldn't be with Wendy because he couldn't grow up. "When you are young they assume you know nothing" could also reference the way that Peter Pan and his friends knew about Neverland and magic, things that adults didn't know about.

13- GLITTER GLITTER GLITTER

Another Peter Pan reference could be the golden glitter that Taylor follows. It looks like the pixie dust that Peter uses to help Wendy fly. As you know, this song is from Betty's point of view, so this could mean that James showed her new things, as the glitter takes her to new places but at the end they break up, so they she is in rough waters

14- PARALLELS

After Taylor climbs back in to the piano, she appears in the cabin. Here are some parallels from the movie and the music video:

  • Taylor stepping on the piano // Peter Pan teaching Wendy how to fly

  • Taylor's loose dress looks like Wendy's nightgown

15- CARDIGAN

I think that in the same way Peter teaches Wendy how to fly, Taylor learns from her past relationship. Taylor ends the music video by wrapping herself in a cardigan (the same she gifted to many celebrities). This cardigan has star patches that reference the line "you drew stars around my scars". This video ends by Taylor looking into the camera the same way the "Delicate" Taylor did. This could mean that although she went through a bad experience, she is alright now.
